My hometown eatery failed me.
I was bringing my son home from surgery back to Florida-
We met up with family at good old Joes. (cant go wrong)
Seated right away, outside, amazing!
Ordered drinks-flawlessly.
Upon receiving drinks, we ordered a chowder for the table. Which arrived with no spoons, (not 3) but none! As we waited, I finally stopped someone else to grab spoons for us, the chowder was room temp by then- Yuck. Bummer.
We ordered a lobster roll to split.
And my son (specific dietary needs) orders a side of grilled chicken. And a side of macaroni. We asked for a side of ranch for fries.
Fast fwd: No salt and pepper, I walked inside to obtain that. No sweetner for the tea, after asking several times.
The food first delivered to the wrong table. Was pathetic!
The roll had approx 1.5 claws, tiny at that, and 2 knuckles, a piece of tail, you just looked right through at lettuce, lack there of also. Completely an embarrassment to your display and advertisement of the roll.
More importantly my son’s food- came out in a bowl all mixed together. Who gets to decides when to throw 2 separate sides into 1 bowl??? There for he never got to eat. At that point I was so annoyed and appalled at the fact I recommended Joes. To make matters worse, the waitress walked by asked how things were (one time)
All of our plates were pushed forward. With napkins laying over them. You think she would take the hint to pick it up? No. Which followed by me asking for the check. Again, common practice to pick up plates, deliver check.
I def will not be back.
100% dissatisfied.
That made for a shit ty Evening. Thank you.

I usually pick many restaurants that are definitely do over upon traveling to different places. Unfortunately this time we got one that will not be returning to. While visiting in Boston we went to Joe's waterfront. It appeared to be very cozy and the atmosphere was really nice. Unfortunately to start with we had to make reservations which is no problem but we wanted to request outside seating instead of inside seating. We were told that they cannot guarantee outside sheeting because it's first come first serve, but we had reservations anyway for the restaurant. When we arrived. Probably about 20 minutes early. They said you would have to wait for a table and we asked if we can have the outside because it was first coming first serve. We were then told that it was going to be at least an hour to an hour and a half wait for outside even though there were tables available. But our table inside would be ready in 20 minutes. Very confusing way of operating if it's first come first serve outside with open tables but you had to wait an hour and a half. When we finally was seated, our waiter was so soft-spoken that we had to ask him multiple times what he was saying. After we got our drinks we put in our order for our appetizers and the meals all the same time. Service was a bit slow and after about 20 minutes the appetizers came out and shortly after that. Maybe another 15-20 minutes the way they came back and said I'm ready to take your order now. We advise him that we had already placed the order with him and he had to look through all his receipts to find ours. Cuz that took longer because the food could have been in at the same time. Nobody ever came back to refill our Waters which were all emptied due to it being a beautiful warm day outside and a lot of walking around. So with the waiter only really checking on this once after the food was delivered it was poor that he did not stop by multiple times at least. When given the bill for our dinner he took our card and prior to our signature on the authorization for the card. I had already received a notification on my phone that my card was used to pay for the meal. This was even prior to me signing the authorization.. we definitely were not happy about that part as well. It didn't seem like it was that busy there and I think he definitely could have done a better job.

I keep coming here hopping to like this place but I don’t. Last month I ordered a well done burger to go it was pink on the inside.
Today I got the lump crab dish and it was an unseasoned mess. The glass I had my drink in was dirty with some sticky marshmallow stuff; that was my fault for not paying attention. More

Nice restaurant. Food was tasty and plentiful. Could have done with a little more seasoning as my lobster didn’t have any. The soup was pretty tasteless and has a lot of bread for the size of the portion. Good location and value for money. Would recommend it for families and large groups as they seem to be able to cope quite well. More

We had a wonderful dinner at Joe’s Waterfront! The harbor view was stunning, but what truly made the evening unforgettable was our waiter – the bald gentleman with the mustache (sadly I don’t remember his name). He was phenomenal: attentive, warm, and genuinely passionate about making our experience special. Honestly, he deserves a raise – staff like him make all the difference!
We enjoyed the nachos, the lobster roll, the crab roll, and ended with the chocolate cake and ice cream – everything was fresh, flavourful, and perfectly prepared. The lobster roll in particular was one of the best we’ve ever had.
Thanks to the excellent service and delicious food, Joe’s Waterfront has become a must-return spot for us. Highly recommended!

I had a really great experience at this restaurant. The place itself is very nice, clean, and has a comfortable atmosphere that makes you feel welcome right away. The staff was friendly and the service was smooth.
The food was very good and definitely worth trying. The prices are reasonable — not too expensive, but still great quality for what you get. If you visit, I highly recommend trying the burgers and the steaks. Both were cooked really well and full of flavor.
Overall, I had a really good experience here and would happily come back again. If you’re looking for a nice place with good food and fair prices, this restaurant is definitely worth visiting!

Oh~quite disappointed with you, Joe!
The staff is very welcoming and friendly, but they are also short staffed, we’ve waited for our spoon after they served our soup.
The presentation of each dish is stunning, but the flavors don’t quite match. More confusing, each dish was served only room temperature-warm, not hot, from clam chowder to captain’s platter, which significantly affected dining experience. We were concerned about the quality but we did not have any stomach issues, just so bizarre. Spent over $100 for mediocre food.
Overall, nice view, great staff, but not recommended

To be fair, my family and I after a morning of sight seeing only stopped by for a few appetizers so I can't be too critical of the entire menu. First what was good. Atmosphere, with a view of the bay how can you not enjoy the scenery around you. The restaurant was clean and servers were attentive, yet I did notice a shift in energy when we said we're keeping it light and only doing apps. Now onto the food. Oysters were tasty and presented well however the clam chowder was just basic and I cannot believe I am saying this, had too much bacon. It didn't taste like a true clam chowder, Progresso can do better. Other than that, not a bad spot for a drink and conversation, hopefully the food will catch up to the ambience.

Great views. Very attentive staff. Very limited beer selection when we visited. Took four trips to the bar by the server before we found a beer I wanted that they had stocked. Overall good experience. Lobster was great!
